2006 Economy Run and 40th Anniversary
The Nomads Motorcycle Club based in Cape Town is about to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. From humble beginnings, this motorcycle club was formed in 1966, however, the first formal gathering of the constituted club was in May 1967 in a small lounge in the YMCA in Observatory. Membership back then was approximately 25, today it stands at around the 200 mark.
With the 40th Anniversary in sight, the Nomads Motorcycle Club have decided to celebrate this landmark occasion by including their Annual Economy Run which is scheduled to take place at Takkies Resort in Riversdale over the long weekend Saturday 29th, Sunday 30th April and Monday 1st May 2006. There is no entry fee – simply a motorcycle and rider!!
Nomads Motorcycle Club therefore take this opportunity to invite members, guests, friends and family to partake in this gathering. The weekend will cost just R200.00 each for Nomad members and R350.00 for non Nomad members. This cost included two dinners and two breakfasts. Lucky draw and spot prizes will be awarded throughout the weekend. The chalets boast six beds and an adequately sized bathroom and kitchen to accommodate residents. A wonderful outside swimming pool is available for the warmer months, so don’t forget to bring along a bathing costume. Fanie from Riversdale will take care of the catering offering country fare for the city dwellers. Take along towels for the weekend but everything else is included viz. linen, crockery, braai facilities. Sponsors have been most kind and generous to the Nomads Motorcycle Club, and we thank them for their support.
