THE BUFFALO RALLY 2010

Dear Motorcyclist
The 2010 BUFFALO RALLY is again being held at the Santos/De Bakke Municipal Resorts, Mossel Bay.
The Rally officially opens at 08h00 on Friday 19th March and closes on Sunday 21st March 2010. Entrants must vacate the Santos Resort by 12h00 on Sunday 21st March 2010.
Please note: Entry to the Santos Resort will only be permitted as from Thursday 18th March, at an additional fee of R50 per person for the Thursday.
As usual, there will be great food and drinks available at reasonable prices. Great music with live bands throughout the weekend, and of course, there will be lots of prizes to be won, with a lucky draw for the
1st Prize of R100 000.
Be warned, the South African Police Service & Traffic Departments will be imposing strict enforcement of the Road Traffic Act over the Buff weekend.
Your behaviour at this Rally is going to determine whether or not there will be any future Buffs in Mossel Bay. Please don’t spoil it for us all.
The unruly behaviour of a few motorcyclists in the main street in 2009 put us in a bad light and almost jeopardised our return to Mossel Bay in 2010.
We want the Buff to be a fun and enjoyable event for us as well as the residents of Mossel Bay and, most importantly, we would like to return the following year. We can only achieve this with your co-operation. To those who “played ball” at the past event, a very big “Thank You”.

WHO IS WELCOME?
The Rally is open to anyone on a motorcycle – Not allowed on site - Cars, Quads and Trailers.
Day Visitors are welcome, but will be required to pay the full entry fee of R220 per person.
No persons under 18 will be allowed to enter the site unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, who will be required to sign an Indemnity Undertaking, thereby accepting full responsibility for the behaviour and safety of the person.
HOW TO ENTER Early Bird Special (Save 10% by entering early!)
Complete the entry form, which must reach us, together with your payment, by the 31st January 2010, to be eligible for the special entry fee of R200 per person, which includes a metal badge & campsite facilities for the weekend. Thereafter the entry fee is R220 per person.

THE ADMISSION LUCKY DRAW TICKET
An ADMISSION LUCKY DRAW Ticket will be sent to you on receipt of your entry form. You must produce this when you check in at the Rally site to collect your metal badge and the rest of your order. DON’T LOSE YOUR ADMISSION LUCKY DRAW TICKET AS IT IS YOUR ONLY FORM OF IDENTIFICATION FOR THE LUCKY DRAW.
CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE

PROGRAMME
You will receive a programme of events on arrival. Among the many prizes, there will be awards for:
ΠThe longest distance to the rally on a motorcycle and longest distance on dirt.
ΠThe longest distance to the rally on the smallest bike.

PRIZE GIVING AND LUCKY DRAW
The prize giving and draw will take place on Saturday 20th March at approximately 19h30 in the main Marquee.
The lucky ticket holder must be there within 3 minutes to claim the prize; otherwise another draw will be made.

Firearms
Firearms are not allowed on site and regrettably NO facilities for firearm safekeeping will be available.
Previous Buff Badges
Five year metal badges are available to those who qualify. The cost is R30 each. To obtain your badge, include R30 with your entry fee and also provide us with the dates of the Buffalo Rallies that you have attended.

The Buff Rally Shop
Buff cloth badges, caps, belt buckles, Jeripigo, T-shirts, vests and ladies tops will be on sale. To avoid disappointment, make your first stop THE RALLY SHOP!!
The Campsite
Please bring tents, as no covered accommodation is available. If you prefer B&B or Hotel accommodation please contact the Mossel Bay Tourism on (044) 691-2202 or visit www.visitmosselbay.co.za for details. Facilities within the resort over the weekend will include food and trinket stalls, bar, clean ablutions with hot water and more.
Demarcating of Camping Areas will NOT be allowed
Due to the fact that the Buff is so popular, camping spots are "prime estate". Regrettably, the practice of early arrivals cordoning off large areas of camping space to "reserve" it for their buddies CAN NOT and WILL NOT be allowed. Large amounts of space are being wasted or not being utilised because of this practice and it is unfair to those motorcyclists who have travelled far distances on their bikes, only to find that there are lots of spots that they would like to camp, but that they have been "reserved". If you would like to camp together as a club or as a group, then arrive together as a club or group!
