GREEN With Envy
(By Devin Corney)
Twas the normal start of a breakfast run
When quite per chance, I stumbled upon
There parked, in the lot
A GREEN ZX10 – One of ours?
Not…
Upon closer investigation
I soon discovered, and to my indignation
A pair of red gloves, and helmet, to boot
Perched upon this mighty GREEN scoot
Slowly on this unsuspecting morn
The picture, to me, began to dawn
I know those gloves; I’ve seen that lid
Peter G? Bought one? He did?
The swine, the filth, the rotten scum…
To keep me in the dark and make me look dumb!
I am the champion of all that is GREEN
Me, me! I should have known and I should have been,
Kept in the loop, not kept unseen!
Upon later enquiry, with our club captain
I uncovered the plot and the anti-Devin faction
I’d been betrayed, stabbed in the back
He had a demo unit with Pete in the sack!
Throughout the day, I begged and pleaded.
I had to try that bike, that’s all I needed.
But no was the repeated, resounding reply
They wanted a laugh and to see me cry.
Thanks Mr. Johnson, I’ll remember this day
It’s branded on my soul, forever to stay
Never have I been so GREEN with envy
I was tormented and teased around all the bendies
One day soon, I’ll have the cash
And purchase my own GREEN flying dash
The deal will be done and not at your door.
I’ll buy it elsewhere, from another showroom floor
