The Buff brings a huge financial injection into the economy of the hosting community. For 2010 this was of course Mossel Bay!
We are often asked what happens to any profits that may be generated from the Buff? For starters, we don't always make a profit from the Buff - and that's a fact! But we are pleased to say that the 2010 Buff was not one of those! So what do we do with any profits? Besides the huge costs to stage and run the rally, many thousands of Rands are ploughed back into the community in the form of donations to many and varied deserving charities. Apart from these donations, we also work closely with charity organisations, such as the Round Table, who benefit financially from the Buff and use these financial benefits wisely for donations and charitable work. In addition, the Buff provides employment to many local residents from the poorer communities.
The following newspaper clippings taken from Mossel Bay news media showcase some of the many beneficiaries of the 2010 Buff.
