It was the perfect day for a breakfast ride, clear skies, hot and not too windy.
We were the first Nomads to arrive at Damelin, with Paul, Cornelia and Johnathan Barber arriving a few minutes after us. The rest of the Nomads and Visitors alike arrived soon after. Denise Faure surprised us with a visit along with her companion Brian Grundy. Christina Kotze, Mike and Jenny and Peter B also joined us for the ride.
Captain H informed us of the route, at the end of which Denise Faure commented that things haven’t changed with the Nomads, “we still go via the Transvaal to get to Durbanville”! Lol . Ian Sinclair and Kevin Farrow were debating about who was going to be tail end Charlie, I wonder why!!
We departed Damelin onto the M5 to the N1 then onto the R44 Malmesbury and then took the Durbanville- Vissershok turn off, then turned left at the 4 way stop to Contermanskloof to Racecourse road and then turned right and arrived at our venue. (Please don’t ask me to comment on the scenery as I don’t always see much of it!)Lol
We were met by a few fellow Nomads; I of course couldn’t get off the bike quick enough and rushed off to my favourite place with directions from Aunty Helewese as there were no pit stops along the way!
A long table was set out for us. There was a variety of hot and cold foods which was plentiful and really good. Captain H said a little speech with Luderick also adding a few words. Great comrade as usual with the talk focusing mostly on our up and coming Palmiet weekend camp on Friday 6th December.
