Rally Info & Entry Form

The Nomads Motorcycle Club is happy to announce the hosting of the 2022 Springbok Motorcycle Rally, our 35th, to be held from the 18th to 20th March 2022.

Regrettably because of the Covid-19 restriction on gatherings we have not been able to organise the event for the past two years. This year’s get together, is again being held at our favourite site, the De Hoek Mountain Resort.

The Resort is situated 35kms from Oudtshoorn, on the road to the Cango Caves, and is tucked away in the Swartberg Mountains.

Please note: the attendance will be limited to 2 000 people in terms of the current Covid-19 restriction on gatherings as well as the Covid-19 protocols will be followed on entry to the site.

If you are interested or have any questions on the ‘Die Hel Adventure Ride’ we do every year, please contact Kevin van Blerk at kevin@pixelsandbits.co.za and he can explain all the detail to you. This has become a very popular event and is a fantastic opportunity for you to see a part of South Africa that few have been to.
It is basically a 130km dirt ride from the De Hoek campsite to Gamkaskloof (Die Hel) via the Swartberg Pass and back to the campsite. So make sure you have enough fuel! It is not suitable for first time riders due to sometimes tricky road conditions. Plastic (MX) bikes are welcome, no quads though, if you need fuel it can be arranged, let Kevin know beforehand. If you would like to practice some dirt riding contact Kevin, he will be more than happy to take you on a ride or two beforehand and he will then be able to tell you if you will cope ok on the ride. There is cold beer and a meal that will be organised for you at Gamkaskloof, bring cash. Ask anyone that has done this, it is a ride to remember and has to be one of those rides on your bucket list! And you get a free button to add to your collection if you complete the ride. Will you have all 7 buttons? Let me know and you will get a special mention during the prize giving.

The Springbok Rally is a family orientated rally hosted by the Nomads Motorcycle Club of Cape Town.
After a 2-year hiatus, the 35th Springbok Rally was back! And what a success it was, we more than doubled the number of entrants from the previous 2019 rally. The rally was held over the weekend of 18th to 20th of March 2022 at our favourite site, the De Hoek Mountain Resort near Oudtshoorn. Several great prizes were given away, and fun games were held for the kids and adults. Mr. Deejay entertained us with great music. The weather was just perfect, except for the locust plague that devoured everything in their path.

This year unfortunately the adventure ride to Gamkaskloof (Die Hel) was cancelled due to poor road conditions but we did do an alternative ride via Kruisrivier and Groenfontein to Calitzdorp and back via Red Stone Hills.
