Another beautiful sunny Sunday for the month of March. Up early to get ready and refuel the bike and off to Damelin to meet up with the other riders eager to go riding with the club.
At 08h00 I briefed the riders on the venue and the route, then it was time to put on helmets and gloves and start up the bikes.
Leaving Damelin we turned right onto the N2 and then took the off ramp to the M5 and over Koeberg flyover onto the N1. Again, riding slowly while the back markers caught up with the front section of the group. Increasing our speed and moving over into the right lane and settling down to enjoy our ride.
We stayed in the right lane until just before the Klapmuts off ramp, turning left at the stop sign and now riding towards Wellington.
After riding through the farm areas and approaching Agter Paarl area we turned left into Vryguns road. After some more kilometres it was time to slow down and to turn right into the parking area of the restaurant Eat @ Perdeberg. Having parked our bikes we went to our tables, which had been set outside in the courtyard in the lovely warm sunshine.
Coffee orders were placed, and the champagne arrived. The President, John van der Spuy, made a short speech and toasted the Chairman for the efficient running of the club.
The food arrived promptly, and everyone enjoyed their food. The food bill was settled by the club for the club members. Unfortunately for the visitors they had to pay for their food.
Soon it was time to depart the venue and head off to our respective homes and prior arrangements. There were 26 members, 5 visitors, 20 bikes and 2 cars.
