Once again Sunday was bright and sunny. It was off to Damelin to meet up with the people who were going to ride this morning, considering that the club had had its Annual Dinner dance/prize giving the night before. There were quite a few riders waiting at Damelin upon our arrival.
Once again it was time to brief the riders about the restaurant and the route. We all put on our helmets and gloves and started our bikes and off we set, turning right onto the N2 and left onto the M5, over the new section of Koeberg flyover and onto the N1 into the right lane, where the ride stayed all the way through the Northern suburbs past all the off ramps.
We stayed in the right lane until about two kilometres before the Paarl turnoff and then moved over to left lane and took the off ramp to the Main Road of Paarl and turned left towards the centre of Paarl.
Riding slowly along the Main Road, we found parking outside the Bossa Nova Good Times Restaurant, which is situated next to a car dealer and up on the first floor of the building.
Upon entering the restaurant, we found our tables set out for us, we just moved one or two chairs as they were placed rather close to one another. Most of our members prefer to be able to fly with their elbows when eating their meals.
The hot drinks were ordered and so were the breakfasts ordered. Everybody was busy chatting and waiting for the hot drinks, which seemed to take a long time to arrive. The breakfast orders also took a long time to arrive at the tables. Which I find unusual as we were practically the only people in the restaurant. Once the food did arrive it was worth the wait as the plates were loaded with lots of ingredients and the food was hot.
Having satisfied our appetites and the bill was settled, it was time to depart to our various residences and prior appointments.
There were 13 members and 6 visitors and 12 bikes and 1 car.
