Upon arrival at Damelin Mowbray, James, Delrae, Paul and Cornelia were there already. Soon other Nomads Members arrived on a beautiful Autumn morning. After a briefing on the route we all set off, Liesbeek Parkway, onto the N2, left onto the M5 where we all stuck to the speed limit over the river as there was a speed camera set up to take snapshots from the rear. Onto the N1 and into the right lane all the way to the Klapmuts turnoff, where we turned left at the stop sign towards Klipheuwel and Durbanville. The roads were very quiet, due to it being Easter Sunday and Monday being a public holiday. We can definitely have more public holidays on the Mondays following the first and the third Sundays of each month. We then turned left at Klipheuwel and proceeded into Durbanville, where the group turned right and then left at the circle, up towards St Johns road circle and on towards Vissershoek. Left at the four way stop through Contermanskloof, then right onto Potsdam road, onto Sandown road into Table View. At the R27 instead of turning right onto the R27 I led the group straight over into West beach all the way through suburbia past David and Tracy`s house, back to the R27 and turning right into Blaauwberg road and then right onto the Beach road and to Doodles restaurant. Yes, that was not the exact route that I had described at the beginning of the ride, apart from some of the members arriving at the restaurant from the opposite direction, we all got there. The Restaurant seated us on the enclosed patio, coffee and tea was ordered, then it was help yourself to the buffet breakfast. There was so much food that I don’t think anybody went back for seconds. Having paid for our breakfast we all departed for our residence`s.
In total there were 28 members and 6 visitors. 17 bikes and 4 quads/cars. Aprilia 1. BMW 4. Harley Davidson 1. Honda 5. Kawasaki 1. Suzuki 3. Yamaha 2.
Stay safe out there
