We woke up to clear blue skies this morning but also with a little chilly wind in the air. I decided to play it safe and donned my winter jacket and then we were off to Damelin. The usual suspects were already there and slowly but surely the rest of Nomads and Guest riders Mahoney and Jan from Piketberg also joined us. The ride was with a difference this morning with my one and only, James being the road captain for the ride. The planned route was departure Damelin to the M3, then to the end of the Blue Route, right turn at the Robot, past Pollsmoor Prison to Ladies Mile Rd, but a little gremlin appeared on James’s shoulder and said “turn left” turn left” at the first turn off instead of the third turn off so we did a slight detour and turned left at Ladies Mile Rd and went straight through to Constantia Nek. We then road towards the circle where we turned right and at the next robot we turned right to Llundudno, James kept to the speed limit and all arrived safely at the Ocean Blue Restaurant. The wind was of course pumping all the way. Watch out Capt. Sinclair you have competition, you are not the only one with a royal blue bike and who keeps to the speed limit! Lol. Most of us opted to park on the side walk opposite the restaurant and thankfully the local traffic cops didn’t bother anyone. On arrival at the restaurant we were met by Mark and Yvonne, Antionette, Henry and family of theirs. As per usual we were also welcomed by the friendly management of Ocean Blue and of course the food was great as always.
